FAMILY RELATIONS

Christian Science brings joy and harmony into the activities and associations of a family group, just as surely as it heals the ills of the individual members. The need is to understand better the nature of the true, the spiritual family.

Mary Baker Eddy makes it clear in her writings that there is a spiritual family; that while God and His perfect creation are one and inseparable, His ideas, each with a complete, individual, and eternally perfect identity, are infinite in number. The spiritual family, the only real family, thus consists of God, the Father, and His spiritual children.

What Christian Science reveals to be the true record of creation, found in the first chapter and the first five verses of the second chapter of Genesis, includes the following (Gen. 1:26): "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
