THREE VITAL WORDS
"I AM All " Three words of six letters only, when viewed materially, but when understood spiritually what power, majesty, and glory are revealed! Then they are seen as the vital symbol of infinity, of that which is without limits of any kind, without an opposite and without opposition.
To gain spiritual understanding, one must begin by learning who or what this I is, the I which is eternally, infinitely, not which was or will be. The statement, "I am All," appears in this encouraging and all-encompassing passage from "No and Yes," one of Mary Baker Eddy's writings (p. 30): "God's law is in three words, 'I am All;' and this perfect law is ever present to rebuke any claim of another law." This law, God's allness ever present, is operating continuously because it is divine Principle, cause, in action. It is omniscience manifesting itself. When we acknowledge the power of God's allness and the ever-presence of that power, the reason or necessity for fear is eliminated. All fear and limitation stems from the false belief that there is another, an opposing power, call it what you will—disease, sin, death, or any other fearsome thing.
Students of Christian Science are grateful to Mrs. Eddy, the author of their textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," for including in that volume a Glossary which gives the metaphysical interpretation of Bible terms and also the definition of many words. One such is (p. 591): "Mind. The only I, or Us; the only Spirit, Soul, divine Principle, substance, Life, Truth, Love; the one God; not that which is in man, but the divine Principle, or God, of whom man is the full and perfect expression; Deity, which outlines but is not outlined." That is a stupendous truth, and every Scientist is unceasing in his endeavor to more fully understand and demonstrate it.
