Nervous tension and illness healed through reformed thinking
God's goodness to me is wonderful; for regeneration, protection, and joy my gratitude overflows.
Although I had from early childhood loved Sunday School and church, their teachings had not been understood, and I had become discouraged. In 1910, when visiting in Chicago, I read a Sentinel for the first time. I realized that this was literature such as I had unsuccessfully sought for years. So now my quest for Truth began afresh. When I attended a Christian Science Sunday service with my relatives, I recognized that here was the truth our dear Master taught, lived, and practiced. My cup of blessing was full and running over.
In a town in New Hampshire where I had lived for two years was a Church of Christ, Scientist, which I had known only by name, but which has ever since been a refuge, an inspiration, and a proving ground, a means of growth and unfoldment in the understanding of God and of man in His likeness, as set forth in Genesis 1:26, 27.
