Aviator proves supporting power of divine Love
To Christian Science I attribute all blessings which have accrued to me during the past twenty years. During this time I have relied upon no other power for physical healing. At one time, with the help of a practitioner of Christian Science, I was freed from streptococcal throat, with loss of only four days from my office. A year later this condition suddenly appeared again at three o'clock one morning. This time it was healed instantaneously, as I prayerfully studied and applied the Responsive Reading from the current Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly.
When the Christian Science association of which I am a member convened not long ago, I was very grateful to be among those present. Up to the last few weeks before the meeting there were difficulties to be surmounted in addition to the distance of seven thousand miles. But during the year I had looked forward to fulfilling my obligation to be present—to partake of the bountiful annual feast which our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has made possible for students who have taken class instruction in Christian Science. So, making this of first importance, I was enabled to secure air transportation after the last ship which would have arrived there in time had already sailed.
A prior proof of Love's guidance and protection occurred during the month I took class instruction in Christian Science. Although I had just received my pilot's certificate and had not yet flown alone farther than fifty miles from my local airport, I prepared to make the flight halfway across the continent with full confidence. Was not the very purpose of the trip enough to ensure its safety and completion? Was not the divine Mind present to hold me on my course, to govern my actions wisely, to support my judgment in ever situation?
