My long search for Truth was rewarded in October, 1946, when I found Christian Science, It is with a grateful heart that I remember the man, a volunteer Christian Science Wartime Worker stationed at Ansbach, Germany, who introduced me to this religion. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science when I think of the many blessings my wife and I have experienced through studying and demonstrating its teaching.

In the three years before I knew of this Science, my eyesight had become so impaired that I could not read without glasses. Reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, attentively, I realized that according to the truth I did not need glasses, and I was able to lay them aside.

Inspired by this beautiful result, I began the battle against a habit of twenty-five years' standing, namely, the smoking of cigarettes. Here, too, Truth was victorious over error, and to my great joy there was no struggle. I cast off this error through the spiritual understanding which I gained in Christian Science.
