Seventeen years ago I was blind. For a year and a half I suffered untold pain and anguish, and finally lost my sight completely. Several doctors and eye specialists examined my eyes, and all said there was no hope of my seeing again.

One day my neighbor, who was a devout student of Christian Science, told me of some outstanding healings which she and another member of her family had experienced through Christian Science. She asked if I would like to have Science help.

For years I had been active in a Protestant church of which I was a member at that time, and during the months of suffering with my eyes I had prayed earnestly to God for relief. I knew nothing of the teachings of Christian Science, and when my friend asked me if I wanted this help, I first thought that if my faith could not help me, what could hers do? But I wanted to see again; and wanting relief from the terrible pain, I decided to try Christian Science.
