As I have been enjoying God's goodness for many years, I should like to add my word of praise and thanksgiving to Him for the blessings that I have received and for the peace of mind that Christian Science has given to me.

At an early age I joined a Protestant church and attended services regularly, but it did not answer my questions about life or God to my satisfaction, and so I lost interest in religion until I found Christian Science in 1914. When I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I knew that I had found the truth and the religion for which I had so longed.

I have had many proofs that Science heals. A number of years ago I was bitten by a pet cat, and this resulted in blood poisoning. Through steadfastly relying on Science and fearlessly facing the error with the knowledge of God's allness and goodness and the nothingness of error, I was healed in a few days. At another time I accidentally knocked over a pan of boiling jelly onto my hand. I wrapped the hand in a towel and started to declare the truth, but all I could remember was "the scientific statement of being," from page 468 of Science and Health. I held to that, and as I worked, I could feel the burning sensation leave, until finally it ceased. I removed the towel and found that my hand had been completely healed.
