Freedom from the tobacco habit is gained when false pleasures of mortal sense are exchanged for joys of Soul

"TURN YE"

In Zechariah (1:3) it is written, "Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts." If we turn unreservedly to God, good will come into our lives without stint or measure.

It is generally conceded that the thought governs the act. If we proceed from that basis, knowing that the act is but an externalization of thought, it is self-evident that if we wish to experience or bring good into our everyday life, we must first turn to it in thought. Thus, in the measure that the fact of the allness of God, good, occupies our consciousness, we turn away from evil and bring into our experience the goodness, peace, and power of God.

On page 316 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God. and to recognize the divine sonship." If we are ever to exterminate disease, hate, war, we must individually and collectively be obedient to that directive, for in no other way can true being —spiritual and perfect—be realized. It is our acceptance of the unreal as the real that hinders our progress heavenward.
