Glasses no longer needed after period of spiritual inspiration

Words are inadequate to express my deep and profound gratitude for the many joys and blessings Christian Science has brought to me. Besides giving me a greater understanding of God, it has enabled me to overcome many difficulties, and I am indeed grateful.

My mother began the study of Christian Science when I was eleven years of age. She enrolled me in a Science Sunday School, and there I learned many truths. These truths stayed with me even though my mother passed on and I went to live in a small town in Canada and had no further opportunity for the next eight years to attend a Christian Science Sunday School or church. I had learned the "Daily Prayer" from the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy (Art. VIII, Sect. 4) during the short time I attended Sunday School, and I faithfully used it every day of my life and knew it to be the truth. I remember telling my father, with whom I lived, that I would some day have the opportunity to attend a Christian Science church.

At the age of nineteen I was given the opportunity to return to California, the place of my early Sunday' School training, and to attend a Christian Science church. I shall always be grateful to two relatives, with whom I stayed, for their never-failing help in my early steps in Science. While n their home I received a beautiful healing of gangrene in my arm, the result of an automobile accident. I am grateful to the nurse and to the practitioner who helped me during that experience. This was my first proof of the healing efficacy of Christian Science, and it served as a big steppingstone in my journey from sense to Soul.
