Serious spinal condition yields to treatments in Christian Science

My first healing in Christian Science, of a serious spinal condition, took place many years ago. I had much prejudice against what I thought this Science to be, but in spite of this, after less than two weeks' treatment, I found myself free from pain for the first time in several years. This healing has been permanent. Since that time many problems have presented themselves. Some have been quickly met, and others have been slow to yield. I am unspeakably grateful that I am learning to say (Luke 22:42), "Not my will, but thine, be done." I know that the giving up of human planning and outlining brings a quiet confidence in God's impartial provision for all.

As a professional singer I have been able, with the help of faithful practitioners, to give entire recital programs when to human sense it would not have been possible. As soloist in a Christian Science church for many years, I have on several occasions been able to take my part in the service without anyone knowing that I had a problem. I was completely and quickly healed of a fractured skull, the result of a fall from an automobile, which occurred when a defective lock on the door against which I was leaning gave way. Every one of the claims of concussion, pain, and the fears of friends were met by the practitioner. For a dearer sense of supply which has abundantly met our needs through the years, I give thanks. For a growing understanding of Christian Science and the many blessings such unfoldment brings; for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, for the literature, and, above all, for our textbook, Science and Health, with its clearly recorded revelation of Truth by our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I am profoundly grateful.—Lawrence Strauss, San Francisco, California.
