TODAY IS GOD'S DAY

Each day is a day of rejoicing to those who have gained some understanding of the divine Principle of being in Christian Science. They greet each day as did the Psalmist (Ps. 118:28): "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Recognizing in a measure God's allness and goodness, they know that God's law protects them against fear, danger, or defeat, and they welcome each dawn as a new opportunity to demonstrate this law both in their individual affairs and in the affairs of the world.

Christian Science teaches that God's day is the unfoldment of good and the illumination of spiritual understanding. Mary Baker Eddy in part defines "day" thus: "The irradiance of Life; light, the spiritual idea of Truth and Love" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 584). As false, material beliefs give place to spiritual ideas, individual human consciousness becomes more imbued with truth. So dawns the eternal light of God's day.

In this sublime, spiritual, timeless day only the purposes of God, Mind, are in progress, God's will is ever in action, and this action is all-harmonious. The real man, one's true, spiritual selfhood, God's own image and likeness, is forever abiding in this day, for he is always in the presence of the Father. All of God's law is fulfilled in this day: the law of harmony, abundance, health, and freedom, because God's day is filled with good, there is neither room nor time for evil of any nature.
