Two bills passed the General Assembly and were signed by the Governor with our amendments. The bill reorganizing the State Department of Public Health carries the following protective amendment: "Nothing in this act shall authorize the State Department of Public Health to impose any mode of treatment inconsistent with the religious faith or belief of any person." The bill providing for the establishment and maintenance of county and district health departments carries a similar amendment.
