Gaining a better view of man's perfection removes friction in human relations

NO MISUNDERSTANDING BETWEEN GOD'S IDEAS

A Christian Science family was confronted with a business transaction in which the other person concerned seemed to be getting much the better bargain. At first a sense of injustice pervaded their thinking, because the other individual, an acquaintance of long standing, appeared to be pressing his advantage to the utmost.

Many times in the past, when beset with problems, the Christian Scientists had found that their need was to rise above the miasma of criticism and doubt to the recognition of the facts of harmonious being as revealed in Christian Science. They now saw clearly that they must think more scientifically about this situation.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 393): "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man." The Scientists knew that because God, good, is the only lawmaker, there can be no laws of injustice or loss, and that God, Love, gives equally to all of His children. They acknowledged God's spiritual creation as the only creation, with not a single imperfection, and to the best of their ability strove to see only the real selfhood of all concerned. Dissatisfaction and unhappiness soon gave way to peace and joy. Their thoughts became more pure, and in a short time the business transaction was worked out to the entire satisfaction of all.
