Spinal injury is healed by reading of the textbook

For nearly twenty years Christian Science has met my every need, financial, physical, and spiritual. My heart overflows with gratitude to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for sharing with the world the understanding of God which she had gained. Words could not express the joy that is mine today for The Mother Church and the Church Manual, which enable each one of us to be active in the Cause of Christian Science.

I have been healed of ptomaine poisoning, severe headaches, muscular strain, indigestion in a rather severe form, acute appendicitis, constipation, and a fractured bone. Through reading the Bible together with our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, when I first became interested, I was healed of a spinal injury. This had necessitated a visit to the doctor's office three times each week. The doctor had given me no promise of relief, but stated that the condition would steadily grow worse until it might require a long period of hospitalization. This healing was accomplished without my knowing it. When the doctor called to inquire why I had not been coming in to have treatments, I suddenly realized that I was free. I have also been healed of cuts, burns, and bruises, as well as of the almost continuous manifestation of colds in some form. Since I first started reading our textbook, Christian Science has been my only physician, and I am humbly grateful for this.

But the greatest joy and gratitude come when I contemplate the ever-unfolding understanding I am gaining of God's universe and God's man, both perfect and eternal. The calmness and peace that are being established in my consciousness through understanding that there is but one law and that I am being guarded and guided and uplifted through that law are indeed gratifying. As Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health, page 99, "The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-immolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposition, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God's spiritual, perfect man." I am so very grateful that we have Christian Science in our home.
