Long-standing illness healed instantaneously with practitioner's aid

Christian Science teaches that God is everywhere. I have proved this truth so many times in the past twenty-five years that I desire to express my gratitude here for the many blessings and healings I have experienced.

I did not come into Christian Science for a physical healing, although I needed one. I shall always be grateful that a neighbor invited me to attend church with her. I enjoyed the beauty and dignity of these services and gained much comfort from them. Finally I decided to try Christian Science treatment for severe headaches. This trouble had kept me in bondage for years, and no material means had relieved it. During a severe attack, a practitioner was called at my request and came to my home, for the need seemed urgent. Under Science treatment the pain faded away, and I became conscious only of God, good. The healing was instantaneous and permanent. I have never since doubted the healing power of Christian Science.

At one time my hand was drawn into the wringer of my electric washing machine. With the little knowledge I had gained from my study of Christian Science, I knew I must look away from the material evidence. So I quickly wrapped my hand in a towel and declared audibly, many times, "the scientific statement of being" as given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The bleeding stopped almost immediately, but it seemed impossible to finish my laundry. It occurred to me to ask my neighbor to finish the work for me, but on my way to her home the thought came to me that her fear added to mine would make it more difficult to complete the demonstration. All I needed was God's help; so when no one answered the doorbell, I knew I was protected. I felt that the demonstration, my first alone, was complete; and I finished my work without difficulty.
