Just as God has made a reliable order in the world of nature, so it is reasonable to suppose that His moral and spiritual laws hold good. There, too, are cause and effect. There may be much we cannot yet understand, but as long as mankind survives, wrongdoing will sooner or later bring its own punishment; courage, humility, and unselfish service will bring their own reward; and the worship of God in Christ by lip and life will give a man new strength, a fresh purpose, and peace at the last. These, too, are unfailing laws of God, and we disregard them at our peril.
