Taking part in true passover brings practical proof of God's ever-present care

"A LARGE UPPER ROOM FURNISHED AND PREPARED"

In a letter to the members of the Concord church assembled for their annual meeting, Mary Baker Eddy says (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 156): "When Jesus directed his disciples to prepare for the material passover, which spiritually speaking is the passover from sense to Soul, he bade them say to the goodman of the house: 'The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? and he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.' In obedience to this command may these communicants come with the upper chambers of thought prepared for the reception of Truth—with hope, faith, and love ready to partake of the bread that cometh down from heaven, and to 'drink of his blood'—to receive into their affections and lives the inspiration which giveth victory over sin, disease, and death."

Today all may participate in the spiritual passover by obeying the teachings of the Bible as interpreted by Mrs. Eddy, the God-inspired Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

Her spiritual interpretation of the words and acts of Moses, Elijah, Jesus, and other Bible characters teaches us how to pray, watch, and work as they did. We learn that the desire of the prophets and apostles to know God, Truth, and a willingness to listen and obey made them spiritually perceptive so that they heard God's voice. Obedience to His Word ensured their spiritual attainment, and continued adherence to Principle gave them power to heal physical ailments and to demonstrate abundance in the face of limitation.
