SACRAMENT

In sacred silence we commune and know
No consciousness of self apart from Thee.
Thus lilted up we would give thanks and go
To draw the hearts of those—and set them free—
Who are made ready for the bread we break.

Not as forgetful hearers, but as true
Observers of the Eucharistic feast
Shall we walk closely with the chosen few
And show them, from the greatest to the least,
That there is blessing in the cup we take.
