Through the testimonies given in our Christian Science churches and in our periodicals, hymns of praise continually arise to God and to His Christ. One of my first healings, the routing of fear, came while I was giving voice to my gratitude for the power of Truth. I am deeply grateful for the completeness of the Church of Christ, Scientist, as established by Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Leader of the Christian Science movement. God alone knows the gratitude in my heart for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church and for the blessings of class instruction. I am deeply indebted to our consecrated practitioners for their loving help in times of need.

Through Christian Science treatment my husband was instantly and permanently healed of recurrent periods of tonsillitis. I have received healings of chronic constipation, ulcerated teeth, deep burns resulting from an explosion, and also burns from overexposure to the hot summer sun at the beach. Infantile paralysis and its aftereffects were completely healed within six months. Nine years ago I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism. The truth that "material beliefs must be expelled to make room for spiritual understanding" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 346) was held to while a jagged piece of glass was removed from the nose of our oldest daughter, although it had appeared impossible to remove it.

I am grateful also for the healing of a fractured wrist which our oldest boy experienced. The healing of a fungus in the throat of another boy seemed to take some time. But I continually denied the evidence before me and knew, as we are taught in Christian Science, that there can be only one growth, that of putting off "the old man with his deeds" and putting on the Mind of Christ.
