I should like to express my gratitude...
I should like to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. Without it my life would have been a miserable one, for I did not sense or appreciate all the good that God was giving me, nor the fact that health could be mine too. I was always becoming ill, and as a registered hospital nurse I spent most of my holidays recovering from sickness. When Christian Science came to me, all that was changed, and difficulties such as influenza, constipation, and biliousness were gradually and permanently healed.
I gave up nursing, and for a time I did not have much money, but I knew by then that God cared for me and that I had only to do His will; so I was not troubled. Gradually supply came, and injustice was replaced by justice, so that in consequence I received more of my rightful supply.
Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says on page 463 of Science and Health: "Our Master treated error through Mind. He never enjoined obedience to the laws of nature, if by these are meant laws of matter, nor did he use drugs. There is a law of God applicable to healing, and it is a spiritual law instead of material." That we do not need to use material remedies for healing has again been proved to me. The confidence inspired by this understanding is priceless, and I am most grateful that I was given this confidence when my right hand was rendered useless after a fall from my bicycle. I did not resort to any material remedies, but had the help of a practitioner. With her help and a stay at a Christian Science Nursing Home, I was quickly healed.
