Abundance is not something added to what man, as God's reflection, already has, nor is it an accumulation of material things. Abundance is a spiritual fact and comes to human experience through the realization of the unlimited good that God is always providing for man.

Therefore, if we are not experiencing an abundant supply of good in our human affairs, Christian Science shows us that we are the ones to do something about it, and that we surely can do something that will be effective. It teaches that God, good, is the only cause and creator, and that He is infinite Love. Then it follows that the effect of the one infinite cause must be wholly good. Man, the image and likeness of God, the expression of divine Love, abundantly reflects infinite supply, its sufficiency and instant availability. This is the eternal fact, even though the false material senses, or mortal mind, claim otherwise, and this fundamental truth is provable in our everyday life.

How do we demonstrate the abundance which man always has had and always will have? By opening our eyes to a clearer view of eternal good. Patience, honesty, loving-kindness and selfless living are great aids in this eye-opening process. Continuous turning away from self-centered thoughts of imperfection, incompleteness, lack, and inharmony, and persistent replacing of them with the truths of perfect God and perfect creation, of infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, of perpetual harmony and abundance—this constant correction of thought is evidenced in adequate provision of all that is needed humanly.
