Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Mt. Clemens, Michigan (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Mt. Clemens, held dedication services on Sunday, October 12, 1947, in the morning and in the afternoon in the church at 127 North Avenue. The regular order of service was followed, and in addition a sketch of the church history was read.

In 1909 a small group of people interested in the teachings of Christian Science began meeting in the home of one of the group. In a few months increased interest made it possible to organize as Christian Science Society, Mt. Clemens. Several changes of location were found necessary as the society outgrew its quarters.
