CASTING OUT FEAR

Courage ! From whence is courage and what is it? Certainly it is not physical, and it cannot be of the human mind. True courage is spiritual. It comes from the realization that spiritual man reflects God's omnipotence and supremacy, in which good is All. We possess this courage in proportion as we acknowledge man as God's reflection, forever living and moving and having his being in God.

Fear, the seeming opposite of courage, comes from belief in the reality and power of evil. But the Bible says (II Tim. 1:7), "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Therefore we have Scriptural authority for saying that we do not need to fear, and that fear is causeless, illegitimate, for God is the only cause.

We can only have that which God gives us: power, love, and a sound mind, that is, courage, the desire to be of service, and the understanding that man reflects God's ability.
