With a deep sense of gratitude to God for Christian Science I give this testimony.

In 1939 I was led to seek this Science for healing, because I was suffering from a nervous breakdown and was very despondent. One day it seemed I could not stand the pain, fear, and depression am longer, and not knowing where to turn for help. I sought God in prayer, asking to be shown the way. Almost immediately the thought come to me to telephone to a friend who I knew had an unusually happy outlook on life and question her. She told me that she had been studying Christian Science for some time and offered to send me some literature. I gladly accepted her offer, and as I read I became convinced that this Science could help me as it had those whose testimonies of healing I read. I asked for help from a practitioner, and it was lovingly given.

I shall never forget the feeling of security and hopefulness that I received from her explanation of God as Love, Mind, ever present and omnipotent. I walked home happier because of my new religion. Christian Science. In a few days I was healed of the need of wearing glasses, of smoking. and of drinking tea and coffee. All medicine was put aside. Drugs to induce sleep were discarded the day I had my first treatment. I found myself enjoying better health and a happier outlook on life than ever before.
