TO A SECOND READER

Ellice M. Biggam

When the inspired Word was read
From the desk today,
One who listened only heard
What Truth had to say.

Then the key unlocked the door
For the waiting guest;
I beheld God's house once more,
Found His promised rest.

Shall not He who is the Word
Speak unto His own?
Let His voice be clearly heard,
Make His will be known?

May I never leave His side.
Wander from His way!
Truly, our sufficient guide
Walked with me today.
