FREEDOM

Who told you, child,
that you were not
a beloved son?

Have you been listening
to mortal mind—
the wicked one?

I love you much,
and yet, God loves you
so much more.

My love so oft
is selfishness,
pride mixed with fear.

I haste to carry
your burdens,
to dry your every tear.

But I have learned
true love means freeing you;
Letting you go,

To feed on husks if need be,
till by. choice
you learn to listen to the Father's voice.
