BARBARA HELPS HER PARENTS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

This is a story of a little girl who loved Bible stories and used a favorite one to help her mother and daddy find a new home.

Barbara didn't have any playmates. She didn't have any brothers or sisters. And there were no other little boys or girls who lived close by, because her home was deep in the woods.

Barbara was not quite old enough to go to school, and she had never been to a Christian Science Sunday School. The nearest church was many miles away, yet she knew just what Sunday School was like, because every Sunday morning her father and mother had Sunday School right in their own living room. First they sang a hymn. Then they read the Golden Text of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, and the Responsive Reading. After silent prayer and the Lord's Prayer, Barbara's mother taught her just as if she were in a regular Sunday School class, telling her of the allness and perfection of God and explaining that God's children, as His image and likeness, are also perfect and can express only perfection. You see, both her father and her mother had been teachers in a Christian Science Sunday School and knew just how to teach her.
