THE MONITOR LED ME TO CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Twenty-five years ago two young neighbors met at the mailboxes in a large apartment building. One was a picture of radiant health, her golf bag slung over her shoulder, a bright smile on her face as she spoke a cheery good morning; the other was an invalid, wearily getting through the days, discouraged after a series of major operations following the loss of her first child.

When the golfing enthusiast expressed the wish that the semi-invalid could go and play golf too, she answered, "About all I can do is read!"

"Oh," exclaimed the other, "do let me lend you something I read every day and enjoy so much. Just a minute!" She ran lightly up the stairs, returning with several folded newspapers. "It's such good reading!"
