Love's Way

The mother of two young children came to our local Christian Science Reading Room to ask numerous questions regarding Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder, and the church services and Sunday School. She said she was a trained nurse and for some time had felt baffled by some physical difficulties from which her baby boy was suffering. She also said that her little daughter had always been so afraid of everything that this condition had presented quite a problem.

One day recently, she said, a neighbor's child had invited her little daughter to attend the Christian Science Sunday School with her. That night, when the mother put the usually frightened child to bed, the little girl said: "Now, Mother, you may as well raise the window, put out the light, and close the door. God is here, and there is nothing for me to be afraid of."

The visitor had come to the Reading Room to find out how this healing had occurred so naturally and normally. She purchased a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and was shown how to study the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly. Since her visit to the Reading Room she has attended church regularly, and the little girl continues to go to Sunday School.
