DISCERN THE "CONSCIOUS INFINITUDE OF EXISTENCE"

In answer to the question, "What is God?" Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 465), "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." Christian Science teaches that man is made in the image and likeness of God; that he is, in spiritual fact, the expression of God's being. Man therefore reflects all the characteristics or qualities of God.

These constitute our only true being, since, as our Leader tells us (ibid., p. 554), "There is no such thing as mortality, nor are there properly any mortal beings, because being is immortal, like Deity,—or, rather, being and Deity are inseparable." As we recognize, claim, and demonstrate the divine qualities in our own experience, we are Christian Scientists.
