The purpose of Christian Science is identical with that of Christ Jesus. It is to show all men that by changing thought from the mistaken belief that cause and effect are material and mortal to an understanding of the fact that they are spiritual and immortal, health, happiness, and permanently harmonious being can be attained.

This change of viewpoint is the most momentous experience that ever comes to an individual in this world. It signifies the start of his ascension from earth to heaven, from the atmosphere of selfishness, sin, sickness, and death to the atmosphere of Love, Life, God.

We accomplish this change step by step as we become willing to cease believing in the reality of matter or evil because we see something of the truth that reality is only of and in Spirit, Mind, God. What accomplishes this transformation in your consciousness and mine is the spiritual idea of God. God is found through spiritual sense to be not a mysteriously enlarged person living at an unknown address, but everywhere present Mind, intelligence, including in its unlimited infinitude all true individuality, which it eternally constitutes, governs, and holds in indissoluble unity with itself as its own manifestation.
