[Original testimony in French]
I have been interested in Christian Science...
I have been interested in Christian Science for the past twenty years and have been a member of The Mother Church for fourteen years. The mental and physical blessings I have received through this Science inspire me to give this testimony of healing. I hope it will come to the attention of some who are not Christian Scientists and bring them into contact with this Science, which is indubitably a source of blessings not only to its adherents, but to all humanity.
About seventeen years ago my eldest son, age seven, came home towards the end of the afternoon from a swimming lesson which he had had with his cousins. He complained of a headache and of feeling sick; he also had a high fever. We were staying in Normandy at the time, at the home of my sister, who was opposed to Christian Science. She suggested that I call a doctor, but having little confidence in a country doctor, I refused to do so, deciding to put into practice the little I knew of Christian Science. I worked the best I could night and day for two days without apparent results. The fever did not abate, and the kidneys and intestines were hardly functioning. On the third night I read from the textbook. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, until six o'clock in the morning, at which time I went to sleep, waking about eight o'clock. I had the inexpressible joy of seeing my son sitting up in bed, smiling and begging for his breakfast. The fever had completely disappeared, and there was nothing left of the trouble.
Some time ago my cook inadvertently dropped on my hand the contents of a pan full of boiling fat. I declared the truth, and the pain ceased at once, I was able to have dinner and to sleep without any pain, and the next day my hand had regained its natural color, except for two large blisters, on the thumb and the little finger, which disappeared very quickly, leaving no trace.
