Syracuse, New York (Second Church).

Organized fifteen years ago, Second Church of Christ, Scientist, 1054 James Street, was formally dedicated at services on Sunday, June 13, 1948.

The First Reader of the church gave the historical background of the church since its inauguration as a Christian Science Society in March, 1933. For a brief period after that, services were conducted at South Townsend and East Genesee Streets. In November of that year quarters were established at 2507 James Street. In September, 1934, the society was recognized by The Mother Church as Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Syracuse.

A merger of the church with Christian Science Society, South Side, took place in February, 1939, after which services were held for a short time in the auditorium of the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts, 407 James Street.

The property at 1045 James Street was purchased in June, 1940, and alterations were immediately undertaken. The congregation moved into its new quarters in September after the remodeling was completed.
