A minister who has published adverse articles on Christian Science in his church paper said, in a conference with the Committee, that we considered "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy our Bible. The first tenet was read to him. A little later an associate minister joined the conference and brought up the same objection. After a few minutes of rather belligerent argument on the part of the associate minister, the minister reached for Science and Health and slowly and reverently read to him our first tenet (p. 497), "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." No further argument on that point was made.
