For about twenty-seven years my wife and I have been students of Christian Science. Perhaps the most outstanding healing I have experienced was the overcoming of the fallacy that God is unknown, or indeed unknowable. Although when a child I was reared in an orthodox church, in my youth I became, as I thought, an agnostic, and for many years I attended no church and had no particular desire to do so. I was much impressed by The Christian Science Monitor, which was brought to my attention during its first year of publication; but it did not then overcome the prejudice I thought I had toward Christian Science. Later I used to borrow the Monitor from a kind neighbor, who with her husband was a member of a Christian Science church.

A nervous breakdown was the final reason for my turning to Science. My wife, who had also given up any kind of church attendance, was convinced by my earnestness that it was something we ought to investigate. She set about asking the neighbors referred to how we might learn more about this Science. We are indeed grateful to these dear friends and fellow church members, who were ready and willing to give us the information we needed.

Although I felt impelled to give up the somewhat exacting position which seemed the primary cause of the breakdown, I attribute my full recovery to Christian Science. Since that time there has not been a recurrence of such a condition.
