I have received much encouragement...

I have received much encouragement from the words of healing and gratitude contained in our periodicals, and Christian Science continues to be an invaluable help, inspiring and sustaining me through the varied experiences of human life.

For class instruction, which I had in 1941, I wish to express gratitude. I should like to relate a healing of defective eyesight and of the need for wearing glasses which I experienced at the time. I had been told by an optometrist that I needed to consult an eye specialist for impaired vision and that it would be necessary for me to wear glasses constantly. I was so fearful that I did not face the problem as I should have. I wore the glasses for several months without receiving any relief from the condition. In the meantime I was awakened to the need for class instruction. I took my glasses to class with me, but it was never necessary to remove them from my handbag, for after the first day's lesson I realized I did not need them. I gratefully acknowledge a quick, complete, and permanent healing.

Later I had to prove the nothingness of many false laws in regard to the eyes. At one time I suffered from severe pain and inflammation in one eye. After telephoning to another city for Christian Science treatment, I was relieved; the eye drained for several hours, and then I realized that the fear of cataract and extreme nervousness had been overcome and I was healed.
