For forty years I have depended solely on Christian Science for guidance and help for myself and my three children. I have had innumerable healings, including those of blood poisoning in my right arm, an internal tumor, and congestion of the liver. An unnamed difficulty produced periodic attacks of intense pain in my back, until I was faced with the necessity of meeting an attack alone. Then it was permanently overcome.

Some years ago lumps appeared on both my eyelids. In spite of Christian Science treatment they continued to grow, and they became inflamed and unsightly. At the time I was working in a position where I had to meet many people. Their kind suggestions of how to obtain help through material means were embarrassing.

Finally there came a time when it seemed as though I must either give up my position or resort to some material remedy, so I consented to visit a doctor. He assured me that the condition was not serious, but that the lumps would have to be removed by a surgical operation. I told him I should have to think it over, and he gave me three days in which to decide. I felt confident that the condition would be met before the three days had expired, but at the end of that time there was no change, so I set out to keep the appointment. On my way the story of Daniel in the lions' den kept coming to me, for he was protected and delivered in a seemingly hopeless situation.
