Although I have expressed my...

Although I have expressed my gratitude for Christian Science in our Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I have never written a testimony for publication. As gratitude is the open door to healing, it is my earnest desire to live my gratitude every day. I have had many healings, and all of them have brought a greater measure of understanding and more freedom from human faults.

One afternoon I went home in much pain and awoke during the night unable to move. After knowing the truth as we are taught to do in Christian Science, I was able to arise and get my books and to continue my study and mental work until morning, although I did not gain complete release. That evening we had a Christian Science lecture at our church, and I attended, knowing that Truth and Love would bring release and peace. However, when I arrived, I was requested to serve as an usher. Although mortal mind endeavored to make me believe that I was not able to do the work, I took my position. I do not know when the healing came, but at the conclusion of the lecture I found myself entirely healed.

At another time I was healed of a creosote burn by holding to the lines in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy (p. 384), "God never punishes man for doing right, for honest labor, or for deeds of kindness, though the expose him to fatigue, cold, heat, contagion." Because I had been burned in a similar way before coming into Science and was therefore fearful, I called a practitioner. He gave me the lines just quoted. I was told to continue at my work; and at five o'clock, when I was through work, I was entirely free.
