To the glory of God and with...

To the glory of God and with deep gratitude I give this testimony. Through the application of the truth as taught in Christian Science I have had many healings, some through the help of practitioners and others through the little understanding I have gained.

When our daughter was born, all was well without the use of anesthetics, to the astonishment of the nurses present, who believed that my age was such that I would experience a very difficult time. The doctor told me that he did not think the baby could possibly live because she was so tiny, weighing only three and a half pounds. Immediately I repudiated mentally all sense testimony. Some months later my husband, who is not interested in Christian Science, expressed the desire that our baby should be medically examined, and so he summoned the doctor for that purpose. After the examination the doctor asked me. "What have you given your baby?" I replied, "Love and her necessary food." He exclaimed, "She is in perfect condition; many mothers would have lost her." Today she is a strong and healthy girl of sixteen years.

When she was a baby I took her to Christian Science church services, and she has never known any other religious teaching. She was healed of whooping cough, mumps, and scarlet fever in a very short time through Christian Science. On one occasion, when boiling water was accidentally poured over her leg, I at once turned away from the scene, and this thought came clearly to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mars Baker Eddy (p. 264): "Where shall the gaze rest but in the unsearchable realm of Mind?" Then I took her in my arms and in a few minutes all was well. Not a mark nor a sign of the occurrence was evident. Another cause for gratitude was the removal of an ugly wart from her hand. One day I told her that man is the image and likeness of God, and that there is only perfection to be seen. We do not know exactly when the healing took place, but a few days afterwards she came running joyously into the house, saying that the wart had gone.
