Here in the range of voluntary visionThis window holds the printed word's display.Each passer-by can make his own decisionTo walk on unrewarded or to stay—To stay and heed the call of these appealing.Impartial opportunities which standAs near and free as eyes' alert revealing,As turning feet, as door-releasing hand.

Let thought respond, though manifold fulfillingOf Truth seems now like balm, now dynamite.Let thought respond, intelligently willing,To all this open heritage of light,To challenges, to victories, which riseFrom out the Word's restorative surprise.
