MY NEED

A simple trust, forever undismayed;Courage to face tomorrows unafraid;Wisdom to choose the better part each day,Though cloud or discord seems to cross my way!Dear Father-Mother, well I know my needFor all of these, and also I should pleadFor greater kindliness, a loving heart,A willingness to do my rightful partIn any work for Thee; I need to seeMy brother man as upright, sinless, free. All this I need, but first my prayer shall be:Grant me a childlike, sweet humility.
