I did not come into Christian Science...

I did not come into Christian Science for any physical healing, but because it sounded logical to me. It was not long before I was tested and was faced with making a decision to depend on Science and give up all material remedies. I made the decision in favor of Science and was healed of a serious disease. For fifteen years I have not spent anything for medicine or doctors' bills of any kind. This is not to say that I have not had some severe testing times and at times doubted. I know now that by standing with God we are finally blessed with hope, joy, and triumph.

A few years ago I was told by an insurance doctor that I had high blood pressure. This created fear in my thought. Another student with whom I talked pointed out to me that it was an overanxious state of thought that created this false belief. Since then I have acquired more poise and a more comprehensive sense of Truth and have not been bothered by this difficulty. I have been healed of timidity in giving testimonies, and I have been blessed more than can be told by giving these experiences in order to help my fellow man.

In 1944 one of our children passed on suddenly. Had it not been for our understanding of this Science it would have been a very grievous and prolonged time of sorrow; as it was, it was a severe testing time, but I learned a lesson through it. I had to see that there is no death. Previously I had believed it; now I had to know it. It took a few months to get a clear sense of what Life and man really are, but I am most grateful for what I learned. Later I was privileged to be with one of my parents when it seemed he had passed on, and to see him restored and a very astounding healing take place. We have also been blessed with the addition of another child in our family.
