Having been blessed by the testimonies given in the periodicals, I can no longer withhold an expression of gratitude for the healings and protection which have come to me since I became a student of this wonderful Science. Before I knew anything of Christian Science I was a very timid woman, being afraid of everything. Through discordant conditions in the home I became very sick, and also suffered terribly under the stress of homesickness. I had to have help for years in doing my housework. I had eight different physicians, some of whom called the trouble neuritis. A lumbar puncture was made on my back, but without result. I took many pills to ease the pain. Also an operation was to be performed, but God protected me from it.

I told an aunt who is a Scientist about my condition. She wrote, asking me to try Christian Science. Many months elapsed before I recalled that letter. One Sunday morning I thought I could not stand it any longer. I cried out to God to help me. I was alone in the kitchen, and while I was praying and crying, I seemed to hear a voice say "Christian Science." Twice I heard it. I looked around me and could not see anyone.

That Sunday became a blessed one, and my whole life changed from that very hour. I put on my coat because I wanted to go to the Christian Science church right away. I felt I had to go because of that voice I heard. My little boy asked me, "Where are you going, Mummy?" I said, "I am going to find God." When I came back, my boy again asked me, "Did you find God?" I said, "Yes."
