EXTRACTS FROM REPORTS of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Sussex, England

The tasks before us can be faced with confidence, for we have the continued assurance of the availability of God's law of infinite good revealed to this age in Christian Science through the work of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Her example is ever before us and it is made clear in an inspiring statement in the Preface to "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. xii): "With armor on, I continue the march, command and countermand; meantime interluding with loving thought this afterpiece of battle. Supported, cheered, I take my pen and pruning-hook, to 'learn war no more,' and with strong wing to lift my readers above the smoke of conflict into light and liberty."

Further progress has been made in the acceptance and printing of the Lesson-Sermon excerpts and other Christian Science news items. Although the paper shortage and consequent lack of space available is still acute, the amount of space donated to these items has increased. The Annual Meeting of The Mother Church received publicity to the extent of ninety-two inches, a considerable increase over last year. The Littlehampton Gazette has been added to the list of newspapers in the county which regularly print the Lesson-Sermon excerpts and other items. The regular publication of the excerpts in the two daily newspapers in the county, namely, the Sussex Daily News and the Evening Argus, is much appreciated.
