"Good morning, bees"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Bobby was five years old and his little sister, Jane, was three. They lived with their mother and daddy on a fruit farm near some beautiful mountains. It was so far from a Christian Science church that they could not go to Sunday School; but Mother had the Bible, and also "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other books by Mary Baker Eddy, which she studied every day. She often read to Bobby and Jane from these books and told them Bible stories. One of their favorite stories was about Daniel in the lions' den.

Now the farm where they all lived was a wonderful place. There were horses to pull wagons, cows to give milk, and hens that laid eggs. And there was a big orchard with pink blossoms covering the trees in the spring followed by juicy red peaches in the summer. But because of the pretty flowers and sweet fruit there were always many bees buzzing about.

One day Daddy found that a large family of bees had moved into the little summerhouse where the children played. This disturbed him very much. He had not been studying Christian Science very long and did not realize that really understanding God could solve the problem of the bees in the summerhouse. So he told Mother he would get rid of them because he was afraid Bobby and Jane would be stung.
