"Thy home is heaven"

Christian Science not only heals physical diseases and disorders, but enables its students to solve problems of every other sort. The writer knows a young man, lately returned from Army duty, who found it difficult to procure living quarters for his family. But through the application of the truths of Christian Science he had convincing proof that divine Love is ever available and can successfully meet every need.

The statement of the Master (John 14:2), "In my Father's house are many mansions: ... I go to prepare a place for you," was prayerfully pondered. He recognized that these words of precious assurance can be utilized now and are not limited or confined to some future time called the hereafter. Each one of God's ideas is already in its right place, and a realization in a degree of this spiritual fact was all that was required for the little family to see the outward manifestation of the truth. He clearly saw that actually it was not a house or an apartment which was most needed, but the spiritual qualities for which home stands, such as rest, security, peace, love, joy, happiness, contentment. Being spiritual qualities, they are ever present and always available to him who has the understanding to utilize them.

In her interpretation of the twenty-third Psalm, on page 578 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy gives the last statement of that Psalm as follows: "And I will dwell in the house [the consciousness] of [LOVE] for ever." Man's eternal dwelling place is in the realm of Love, and is outside of any material concept of house or home. This spiritual dwelling place transcends any limited view of a material structure made of wood, brick, or stone. It is the real and only abiding place for the man of God's creating. This fact finds its corroboration in Paul's declaration (Acts 17:28), "In him we live, and move, and have our being."
