Gratitude for all the healings...

Gratitude for all the healings and benefits that I have experienced through the study and application of Christian Science prompts me to relate some of them, that someone who needs encouragement may be helped.

Selfishness, hate, condemnation, and all kinds of discord made for sickness in our home, and for many years someone was always ill. About forty years ago I had a stroke of facial paralysis. I doctored for over two years, and five years later I had another stroke. The doctor said I might have twenty-one strokes. It was at this time, when I was very much discouraged, that my father learned that Christian Science had healed his friend's wife of a similar ailment. He decided that he would take me to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. When I saw the inscription on the wall (Matt. 11:28), "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," I was convinced that Science was what I was seeking.

One Sunday, soon after my first visit to the Christian Science church, I met a former employer on the stairs of the same church. Inasmuch as I had proved to him my ability as a bookkeeper and cashier, he asked me to return to the position that I had at one time held, desiring to encourage me to keep active and to demonstrate the efficacy of Christian Science. Although I was afraid to work I did return, and I also applied myself to the study of Science. Complete healing resulted. In a short time I was able to resume full responsibility in my work. I have not had any more strokes. Manmade laws can be annulled by the understanding of Truth.
