It Need Not Be

PEGGY DICKINSON TODD

There is no law of Love
That sanctions shadows of the night.
The law of God protects us all
And leads our way in light.

There is no law of Truth
That shelters lust and shelters greed.
The law of God is enough for all
And answers every need.

There is no law of Life
That makes necessity of wrong.
The law of God is omnipotent—
God's child is pure and strong.
