About fifteen years ago I expressed my gratitude for Christian Science in The Christian Science Journal. With the increased understanding gained since then, more freedom has been attained, and I feel a great desire to voice again my gratitude for the infallible protection and healing which this wounderful truth brings.

As a child I was extremely sensitive to unpleasant occurrences around me, or sensational accounts in the newspapers. The old theological belief in an inexorable God who punished His children if they disobeyed His will also weighed me down. As I grew up, my fears increased and I worried constantly. Eventually I went to a nerve specialist, who kindly tried to reassure me and sent me home to the country with a tonic.

I had studied Christian Science for a while, but was unwilling to turn to it completely until, finally, I got in such a state that I could not sleep, and was in such torment and confusion that I feared a nervous breakdown. Feeling that I could not go on much longer, I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner for help. Although fifteen years have passed, the relief that came even before I had a reply to my letter stands out vividly in my experience. I had a most wonderful night's sleep—a positive proof of some real benefit at hand.
