Testimonies of healing published in the Christian Science periodicals have been a source of continued inspiration and encouragement to me since I became a student of this Science, and it is with the earnest hope of helping others that I submit the following testimony.

Eleven years ago I was stricken with a heart malady generally conceded by the medical profession to be incurable. After leading a busy and active life, I was put to bed for many months. The disease progressed through various phases for two years, finally culminating in a stroke of apoplexy. There followed nearly a year more in bed, any effort to regain activity occasioning serious and painful attacks. I was in this seemingly hopeless state when I found Christian Science and began reading Science and Health. A dear friend, who is an earnest student of Science, came to my home and taught me how to study the Lesson-Sermons. Feeling very fearful of giving up the medicine which I had thought so important, I refrained from asking for help from a practitioner, though I continued to study faithfully for three weeks, experiencing great spiritual joy and hope.
